We are looking for an exceptional Vice President, Business Development and Sales to join our leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to significantly impact the growth of an expanding organization through strategic planning, leadership, execution, and customer relationship building. This individual will pull cross-functional teams together, guide them, and be responsible for high-capacity work and success in areas such as business identification, pursuit, and order capture, as well as establishing and maintaining positive business relationships.


This is an on-site role located in Torrance, CA.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Business Development to meet new business targets each year. Effectively transition qualified opportunities to the business development teams that result in revenue producing bids.
  • Provide leadership for specific customer accounts with focus on year over year revenue growth.
  • Actively participate in the identification and qualification process of potential avionics business opportunities to ensure the business model supports the strategic goals and objectives of Intellisense.
  • Support strategic long-range planning, market analyses, and forecast data for DoD and commercial avionics market sector.
  • Lead opportunity capture and proposal team activities.
  • Advanced strategic thinking, business acumen, and analytical skills, capable of making data-driven decisions to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Coordinate customer engagements and customer call planning.
  • Identify strategic alliances, teammates and partners for key pursuit opportunities.
  • Participate in relevant trade shows, industry events, and seminars to stay abreast of customer strategies, goals, and objectives.
  • Will be required to travel 25-50%.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field; Advanced technical degree(s) preferred.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry, with at least 5 years in business development or capture.
  • 8 to 12 years of DoD marketing experience with principal customers such as NAVAIR, Army Aviation, and Air Force as well as Tier 1 System Integrators.
  • Functional expertise in customer-facing aspects of Business Development activities including building strategic relationships, opportunity identification, proposal generation, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Practical understanding of technology transitioning, product/market development, and marketing/product planning for US military applications.
  • Knowledge of conducting and directing competitive product analysis using market research techniques and a solid technical understanding of service/agency needs and requirements.
  • Must have superior proposal development/writing and basic contracting/negotiation skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be willing and able to obtain a Security Clearance or have active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Full time presence at our Torrance, CA facility is required except when on travel.

Pay Range:
$215,000-$300,000 annually, plus an equity stake in the company.
Base salary for this position will vary based on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
