We're seeking a highly motivated and skilled Team Leader, Engineering to manage, lead, and mentor the engineering staff that works on technology development within the Emerging Technologies Department.

The Emerging Technologies Department works on cutting-edge research involving innovative design, integration, and implementation of emerging opto-electronics components.  As part of the team, you will work alongside other experienced engineers and scientists to develop novel, cutting-edge solutions and facilitate the transition of new technologies out of Research and Development into practical applications and new products.

As a technical leader, you would provide hands-on technical work and provide technical expertise by overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects by your team within defined timelines and budget constraints. This role is 80% technical and 20% management. Intellisense prides itself on fostering a collaborative team environment, so your skills as a team player and effective communicator will be critical to the role and achieving success.

As a Team Leader, Engineering, You Will:
 
  • Provide hands-on work in designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions to address specific requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership to the engineering team including mechanical, electronics, and software engineers, whose primary responsibility is to develop and transition new technologies out of R&D and into production to enhance our military and aerospace product line.
  • Coordinate with Project Leads to establish timelines for the completion of the project and facilitate technical estimation by either doing technical estimation directly or supporting a team member’s effort.
  • Monitor daily project operations and support team members in overcoming obstacles to enhance overall team efficiency and productivity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills demonstrated by preparing documentation, technical reports, and presentations at meetings.
  • Interface effectively with people at all levels from diverse backgrounds.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or Systems Engineering; or related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in relevant Engineering field.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: electronics design, mechanical design, or software design.
  • Proficiency in relevant tools, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Proven experience in engineering leadership roles, with a track record of successfully managing teams and delivering projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in written form, with both internal and external customers (and suppliers).
  • Effective problem-solving and organizational skills, self-motivation, and detail-oriented, exhibiting dedication to accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Ability to lead and positively motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Flexibility to maintain productivity and enthusiasm in a fast-evolving, team-oriented environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be willing and able to obtain a Security Clearance or have active Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range:

$130,000 - $170,000
However, base salary for this position will vary based on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
