We’re seeking an exceptional Shipping/Receiving and Government Property Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will support our fast-paced Shipping and Receiving Department in meeting daily customer demands by working independently to ship customer orders on time and provide outstanding service. They are also responsible for management and administration of Government Property provided to Intellisense Systems to support contract performance.
 
As Shipping/Receiving and Government Property Lead, You Will:
 
  • Package and process daily shipments within time constraints. Run required reports and send out shipment notifications daily. Maintain Shipping log daily.
  • Receive inbound material into system of record and quality data base. Issue material as needed and send receipt notifications as required. Maintain Receiving log daily.
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against Bills of Lading, Invoices, Purchase Orders, or other records. Attention to detail is critical.
  • Generate contractually required shipping and receiving documentation for all shipments (Packing Lists, Receiving Reports, Commercial Invoices) using military or customer portals.
  • Maintain awareness of small pack carrier changes, applicable regulations, customer shipping requirements, freight forwarders and carriers utilized.
  • Review and follow up on shipping agreements, discounts, claims and carrier issues. Generate LTL quotes and freight for vendors.
  • Organize finished goods and perform physical counts as needed. Manage and account for packaging materials, replenish as needed to support shipments.
  • Assist with various material management and government property projects as time permits. 
  • Shipping experience required with UPS, USPS, Fed Ex, DHL, LTL in a military or defense contractor environment.
  • Generate Export and Import International shipping documents. Reconcile freight Invoices.
  • Train new Shipping and Receiving employees on basic procedures with the assistance of management.
  • Maintains government property control system in compliance with government property regulations. Coordinates receiving, identification, inventory, disposition, shipment, and disposal as required per contract. Works with Contracts Management to generate administrative reports as needed for inventory reporting, contract shipments, contract updates and contract closeouts. Issues loss, damage, disposal and destruction reports as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:
 
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Some college/vocational coursework preferred.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in a technical customer support or logistics role.
  • Experience executing shipping and receiving tasks independently is required.
  • Packaging knowledge is required to make decisions on box size and protective packaging with lowest cost and best performance.
  • Ability to work within deadlines, under pressure and handle interruptions.
  • Proficient with data entry and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Reading, Writing, Math and Communication skills.
  • Good communication skills, good problem-solving ability and ability to work with a diverse work force.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be willing and able to obtain a Security Clearance or have active Secret Security Clearance.

Nice to Have:
 
  • Team Lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with Government Property and Government Contracts preferred.

Pay Range:

$28.26-$36.00/hour
However, base salary for this position will vary based on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
